When you try to log in, you may get a “502 Bad Gateway” error shown in the browser window, like below.
To fix this, you need to clear your cache in the web browser you are using on your phone. You may experience the 502 error multiple times (typically if the app has been updated or we have restarted our servers). So you need to do this more than once.
How to clear the cache differs on different browsers and phone types. Here is a list of the most common browsers, but you may need to check how to do this on the specific browser on your phone.
- Android
- Samsung Internet Browser (read the “How to clear history, cache and cookies” section)
- Google Chrome
- Apple iPhone
Below is a small video showing how to do this on Android using Google Chrome.
If the problem persists, you may need to configure your browser to use a “private DNS“. Here is how you do this on an Android phone:
- Open “Settings.”
- Tap “Connections.”
- Hit “More connection settings.”
- Tap “Private DNS.”
- Select private DNS provider hostname.
- Type in “dns.google” as the hostname of the DNS provider if it is not there.
- Then tap “Save.”
Once you have done this, you need to clear the cache on your phone, as described above.
